When I was a kid, while the others were reading Spiderman in Marvel Comics, I was reading the Blue Beetle in Charleton Comics. Maybe that is my life in general being a little different in the same thing.

I lost a friend!

I have been corresponding with a family friend over the last year. He was my dad's best friend and a personal (for me) parental authority figure. In all the time we were corresponded, he only disclosed his cancer in a letter I received on December 22nd, 2004. He sent another letter or two and passed on January 9th, 2005.

It is not easy to lose a friend, and I have to say he was a true friend.
