I had lunch with an old friend and his wife last saturday

Alan, one of my buddies from college is as southern Baptist as one can be, so what did he do? He married an italian catholic girl from Buffalo New York. Ah, mixed marriages..they are what makes the world turn.

We were talking about god-children, and Sharon (his wife) commented that in today's world few take the role of a godparent as a responsibility. She said this in response to Annette (my wife) and I discussing giving Brennan Sweeney money in a 529 plan to help her go to college.

Is this true about godparents being just a ceremonial role?

You have good taste in movies. Unfortunately, I have seen all of them on your list, so I can't steal any of your picks. Bugger!

Have a nice day anyway. :-)

There are other movies, but I really wasn't thinking about movies when if filled out the blog and just put the ones I could think of. Anothe ris the "Man who Fell to Earth" with David Bowie (one of the wierdest Sci Fi movies EVER).

Feel free to come back and post again!
